At Great American Gold Rush, we founded our company on the firm belief that education is the key ingredient in any and all transactions.
We take pride in showing each and every customer we serve the value of their items before we make any offer to purchase.
When we encounter a collector who doesn't know the value of their item, we will show them how and why we appraised the item at the value we have.
Many times, we will pass on the history of the items we look at and give them an honest assessment of the value.
There are times when we can't pay what the customer wants for their items. Sometimes it's sentimental value and other times it may be a disagreement in condition or rarity, but we will always strive to make an offer that works for both parties.

It all began with a group of people who dreamt of starting something new.
Our founder, Dave Barrett has established several successful businesses in the past and saw the need for a company that not only buys and sells precious metals, rare coins, and collectables, but also educates People on how to prosper in these markets as well.
People were struggling just to put food on the table and pay the bills. We not only purchase gold, silver, and collectables from the general public, but we actually started showing them how to locate, identify, purchase, and sell these items for profit.

CAN I MAKE MONEY BUYING GOLD?

Over the last 25 years, I have run a retail business buying and selling gold, silver, and rare coins.
During the operation of the business, I noticed customers returning on a weekly basis, usually on a Monday morning. Many of these people have become friends over the years and I lovingly call them "Yard Sales Warriors".
WHAT IS A YARD SALES WARRIOR?
A Yard Sales Warrior is a person who has learned how to identify gold & silver. (Many of whom I educated to do this)
They locate local yard sales and sort through jewelry (most of which is worthless costume jewelry) They pick out the valuable gold and silver items and ask the owners what they want for the few items they picked out. Often, the owner only wants a fraction of the true value of these items.
A few years ago, I had one of my regulars whom I educated on the locating, identifying, and the evaluation of gold and silver tell me that I should teach a course on "Making Money" in gold and silver.
